7 Exercises for Vertigo Patients You Can Try

These exercises are done in two stages: first without object and second with object.

    • The first stage

    • The second stage

Make sure your head is in steady position. Ask someone to move the object slowly toward the vertical and horizontal a few times. Focus your attention and follow the movement of the object with your eyes.

2. Body Training Exercises

3. Head Training Exercises

5. Walking Exercises

This exercise combines the method of closed eyes and eyes open.

  • Sit on a chair with your eyes closed
  • Get up slowly from the chair
  • Repeat a few times
  • Then repeat again with your eyes open
  • After that, walk slowly inside the room with your eyes closed for a while. When stepping, make sure your heel and big toe touch each other.
  • Open your eyes and then walk in the place that has been circled. You must try not to leave the circle.
  • Then close your eyes. Gently move left, right, forward, backward.
  • If you feel dizzy, stop for a moment

6. Brandt-Daroff Exercises

This exercise takes three sets – five reps daily.

  • Sit on the edge of the bed
  • Tilt your body to the left. Lay down onto your side while your eyes are looking up at a 45-degree angle.
  • Do it for 30 seconds
  • Then sit up straight and wait for 30 seconds.
  • Then tilt your body to the right. Lay down onto your side while your eyes are looking up at a 45-degree angle.
  • Do it for 30 seconds
  • Then sit up straight and wait for 30 seconds.
  • Do five reps for three sets

7. Exercise in Bed

Do this exercise before going to bed or when you wake up. Lay down on the mattress while looking up at a 90 degree angle. Get up your body slowly, while bowing your head, to a sitting position.
